Get to know our Headmaster - Part I

What’s your favorite Book?

My favorite book is Dante Alighieri’s The Divine Comedy. The epic is a timeless work that encompasses a rich philosophical, theological, literary, and scientific tradition. It is no wonder that Pope Benedict XV described the Italian poet and scholar as one “to whom civilization and religion are ever in debt.”

Who is your favorite Saint?

My two favorite saints are Saint Ignatius of Loyola and Saint Thomas Aquinas. I have a special devotion to St. Ignatius because I met my wife a few feet away from his tomb at the Church of the Gesù in Rome, Italy. On the other hand, I attribute my dedication to lifelong learning to St. Thomas. The Angelic Doctor has served as an authoritative and irreplaceable guide in my pursuit of truth.

How many languages do you speak? Which ones?

I speak English, Spanish, Italian and French fluently, and I attribute that to my penchant for Latin and its contribution in shaping Western culture and tradition.
