Application and Enrollment Process
Step 1: Apply Online
Our application process is completed online through FACTS.
There is a non-refundable $25 application fee.
Applications will be accepted through February 29 for early admissions. Applications submitted beyond this date will be considered on a rolling basis.
We are accepting applications for incoming 9th-11th grade students. Please note an 11th grade class will be dependent upon sufficient interest. If you have a child seeking to be an 11th grade student, please contact our admissions team for further conversation.
If you have any questions before applying or throughout the process, please contact our admissions team.
Step 2: Placement Exam
All incoming students regardless of current grade level are required to take the Chesterton Placement Test based on the Classical Learning Test 8 (CLT8). This test will be used as a diagnostic tool to ensure students are placed in the appropriate section of each academic subject, and to help identify areas of academic strengths and opportunities for growth.
The test covers the following:
Verbal reasoning skills
Grammar and writing skills
Quantitative reasoning skills
Test Dates
Tests will be administered at the St. Thomas More Newman Center (Ohio State Campus) on the following dates:
Sunday, February 18, 1-4pm
Saturday, March 2, 9am-12pm
Once you have completed and submitted your application via FACTS, please sign up for your test date. You will receive an email with additional instructions regarding your test date.
Students may take a Latin placement test in the spring if applicable.
NOTE: There is no additional charge for the placement tests.
Step 3: Family Interview
Each family (student and their parents together) will meet with the admissions team for a 20-30 minute interview. The purpose is to ensure that both the family and school are a good fit for one another. You will receive an invitation to schedule an interview in March after your application has been submitted via FACTS.
Step 4: Admissions Decision
After the application, CLT placement test, family interview and all application materials have been reviewed by the admissions team, qualifying students will receive an acceptance letter.
Step 5: Enrollment
After acceptance, students may enroll with Chesterton Academy of St. Benedict! This involves signing a tuition agreement, submitting a deposit, and agreement of our family handbook.
New students will be invited to meet other students and families, staff, and teachers over the summer while preparing for the school year.
Financial Aid
Families may apply for financial aid through FACTS starting in late March. Financial Aid awards will be given in April.
NOTE: The FACTS Financial Aid System requires a separate login from the FACTS Admissions and Enrollment system.
